The death of two women in Wollganmbe 1, 2 January 2021, received a lot of media attention, but there have been many incidents there. Most recently, on March 23 2023, 39-year-old Munib Dar from St Ives got caught between rocks and died. He was close to the exit but I wasn’t able to determine whether it was Wollangambe 1 or 2. He wasn’t on his own but his friends couldn’t save him. It was wet, cold, and misty. I assisted with the body recovery operation by a large number of volunteers from SES, RFS, and BSAR, under the direction of Police Rescue. There were also Ambulance operators and the Rapid Relief Team.
